Albuminuria as a side-effect

Albuminuria can be caused due to intake of various medicines. Most medicines whether it is meant to reach for whichever region of our body for treating any ailment; if taken orally passes through other regions also; whether during absorption, distribution, metabolism or excretion (commonly called ADME) of the said medicine. This can lead to undersirable effects or side-effects, more commonly called in affecting one or more regions of our body. Some medicines which cause albuminuria as an undesirable effect are:

1. Excessive Vitamin D: It comes as a late sign of excess intake of Vitamin D or Calcitriol. 

Albuminuria: Introduction

Albuminuria refers to the presence of readily detectable amounts of serum protein, especially serum albumin but also serum globulin and others, in the urine. Albuminuria is the common sign of renal impairment (nephritic syndrome and other kidney disorders); it also occurs in fever, malignant hypertension, and in healthy people after vigorous exercise among other conditions.

Toxic albuminuria

Albuminuria caused by internal or external toxins is called toxic albuminuria.
